Olympic Games, Beijing 2008 at Cafe Sports England! - Tue, Aug 5th, 2008

Hi, Only two days until Olympic games begin. Cafe Sports England will be showing most games between 11:00am and 10:00pm. If you have a favourite sport/game you would like to watch then book your table/booth now. The team at Cafe Sports England will be supporting local Liverpool Boxer David Price who will be captain of the England team. The opening ceremony starts at 12:45 until 16:45 this Friday 8th August. Hi, Everton Midfielder Mikel Arteta enjoyed a get together with a friend at the restaurant last Saturday night. Arteta spent a few hours relaxing in a booth with his friend and enjoyed one of Jamie Carragher's favourite fruit smoothies. He spent quite some time sipping on the "Sprint Finish" which contains all the right ingredients if you want to "Eat Well and Play Well". Our Smoothies are delicious and also provide you with 2 out of your recommended 5 a day. Next time you visit Cafe Sports England you must sample the smoothies, my favourite is the "Strawberry Striker" mmmmmmmm. Vic

Local Liverpool Golf Sensation to help with auction!! - Thu, Jul 10th, 2008

Hi, Local golf star Nick Dougherty today announced that he would love to help out with our auction site helping with the "Eat Well, Play Well" competition. He has kindly offered to auction a signed golf club which he will be using in the Golf Open this coming Thursday. Nick Dougherty may only be 26 but he is regarded as one of the Worlds best young players and throughout his teens has gained a fine reputation around the globe. Nick has even agreed to put his thoughts and ideas into a special healthy dish of his choice for Cafe Sports England. The dish will then be put onto a menu along with other dishes such as the Torres Tortillas. We look forward to seeings Nick's dish available at Cafe Sports England and we wish him a very good luck at the Golf Open in Birkdale this Thursday. Bye for now. Victoria

New LFC Signings Andrea Dossena and Philipp Degan! - Tue, Jul 8th, 2008

Hi, Last night Cafe Sports England welcomed Liverpool's new signings Dossena and Degan. Italian full back Andrea Dossena signed a four year deal at Anfield whilst Swiss Defender Philipp Degan became Liverpool's first official signing of the summer after putting pen to paper on a four year deal yesterday. Philipp Degan met his new team mates at Melwood for the first time yesterday then later joined Andrea Dossena for a meal at Cafe Sports England. They looked like very settled and comfortable whilst dining with agents and a beautiful Mrs Dossena. They definitely did not mind getting their pictures taken as they all happily smiled for the camera. Welcome to Liverpool Boys!! Victoria

Auckland College help launch Auction at Cafe Sports England! - Fri, Jul 4th, 2008

Hello Everyone, Yesterday afternoon was an eventful day for Cafe Sports England and Auckland College as we began the launch of the auction. Cafe Sports England yesterday launched a new auction scheme to help schools in the Merseyside region win over £5000 worth of sporting equipment. Cafe Sports England are the second restaurant in Merseyside to ever recieve the "Greater Merseyside Food Charter" award, as a result we would like to help promote healthy eating by encouraging local school children to "Eat well, Play well". We have devised a scheme where all pupils can recieve a free fruit smoothie voucher whilst dining at Cafe Sports England and entering the "Eat well,Play well" competition with their school. We will be running a school league and each time a pupil redeems a free fruit smoothie voucher worth £2.95 each, the pupils school will gain a point in the league for their school. At the end of the first campaign (Oct 2008) the school with the most redeemed smothie vouchers will be informed and the Head teacher along with 5 pupils will be invited to Cafe Sports England to be presented with the prize by Jamie Carragher himself. The prize on offer is branded Adidas Sports equipment/clothing to the value raised by online auction on our website. Cafe Sports England's auction page is currently auctioning Jamie Carragher's shirt from his 500th game, which has already received a bid of £5000 and is currentlyon disply at Cafe Sports England. Adidas has also agreed to make a monetary contribution towards the total amount raised. To help with the launch we had a very special visitor, Rafa Benitez who the children were very excited to see. Sammy Lee also came along and Jamie Carragher was also around to have his photgraph taken with the pupils of Auckland college. Lots of others helped us to launch the new scheme including LFC TV, Granada, Echo, Daily Post and many more so all around a very exciting day. Hello everyone, Ukrainian striker Andriy Voronin enjoyed some lunch with girlfriend Yulia at Cafe Sports England on Monday. Voronin worked his way through several dishes and finished off with a few beers and a few poses for the camera before heading off for spot of shopping. Would also like to congratulate Nicol David on her win this Monday at the Dunlop squash finals. Nicol David, Worlds womans number 1 squash player! Friday 9th May 2008!! - Mon, May 12th, 2008

Hello All, Cafe Sports England had an unexpected visitor this morning from Nicol David the worlds number 1 woman squash player. Nicol has been staying in the city centre at Liverpool's Sir Thomas hotel whilst she has been competing at various venues for a place in the final this coming Monday. Nicol was more than happy to pose for photgraphs and sign autographs, she even booked a table at Cafe Sports England for herself and fellow world champion squash players for the weekend. The team at Cafe Sports England would like to wish Nicol Good Luck in gaining a place at the Final!! Victoria xx

Bank Holiday Weekend with Fernando Torres, Martin Skrtel and Jamie Carragher ! Tuesday 6th May 2008! - Tue, May 6th, 2008

Hello again, Bank holiday weekend at the restaurant has been amazing and really busy we even had a visit from the reds goalscoring hero Fernando Torres on Saturday. Torres enjoyed a get together with a few family members so it was not impossible for fans not to notice him. According to fellow diners Torres was more than happy to sign autographs and even paid one young lady a visit to her table just to say "Hello" (Lucky Girl). The goss does not stop there, on Friday Martin Skrtel called in for some lunch with friends after a shop around town then Bank Holiday Monday team-mate Jamie Carragher visited the restaurant. So all around an excellent bank holiday weekend and i shall look forward to the next Bank Holiday Monday 26th May!!! For now everyone see you all soon. Victoria
